Bernstein’s relationship with his Jewish heritage, and the history of Israel, from its birth, were a deep and important part of his life. Bernstein and his wife Felicia were ardent and active supporters of civil rights. And late in life, with the advent of AIDS, Lenny became vocal in support of Gay rights and funding for AIDS research.
