Behind the Scenes Photo Logs

A number of project photographers, such as Carl Fleischhauer and Jonas Dovydenas, worked alongside folklorists in visually documenting a wide-range of community traditions across Chicagoland. With more than 14,000 photos in the Collection, they document artists’ homes and practices, restaurants, business, places of worship, and cultural centers, as well as performance and festival events across 1977 Chicago.
