Miscellany: Everyday and extraordinary

  • 99% Completed
Clara Barton maintained personal address and account books during her lifetime, in addition to financial and legal papers. These and other everyday documents, such as bills and receipts, constitute a large part of this grouping of “Miscellany” and provide interesting glimpses into Barton’s travels and professional networks. Decorations and medallions bestowed upon Barton by foreign governments and by public and private organizations are included here as well. You will also find that some documents in this grouping date from the time after Clara Barton’s death in 1912, including information about her death and burial, the distribution of her estate, and the creation of the Clara Barton Memorial Association.
