Briefs: Agreements, Debts and Obligations, 18th-19th Centuries
Briefs are written legal documents presented to a court arguing why one party to a case should prevail over the other. This subsection of “Briefs” covers mostly 18th and 19th century disputes between individuals over matters such as annuities, pensions, debts, transactions, and the enforcement of contracts.
