Active in organizing across the country, the National American Woman Suffrage Association (NAWSA) developed this general correspondence file which consists of letters written to and from individual members, supporters of the association, and NAWSA officials. The documents also reflect relationships with other reform organizations, and with the NAWSA Board of Directors, the Executive Committee, and other units of NAWSA. The collection features correspondence from many of the leaders in the American and British women's rights movements, including Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Julia Ward Howe, Carrie Chapman Catt, and Sylvia Pankhurst, among many others.
