Supplementary File Part 1

This portion of the Supplementary File covers a variety of Walt Whitman's personal correspondence. 

The Supplementary File of the Charles E. Feinberg collection of Walt Whitman Papers contains a wealth of different types of documents that are handwritten or printed. A mix of original documents and photocopies, the materials  come from various original sources. Some stem from during Walt Whitman’s lifetime, others chart his legacy for decades after his death. Included are ancillary correspondence items, letters written by colleagues and friends, literary criticism of Whitman’s work, scholarly and journalistic profiles of Whitman, printed broadsides and pamphlets, news clippings, printed reviews, whole issues of literary magazines that include items about Whitman, and miscellaneous items like lecture tickets or advertisements.  Legacy materials include documents regarding the Walt Whitman Fellowship and the creation of the Walt Whitman Birthplace historic site.
